If your free tomorrow get yourselves down to the green at Old Whittington for the Old Whit Gala! We will be having a stand there - please come and support us, everything we raise will benefit the group which in turn benefits you. Feel free to come and help or just come along and have a go at hook a duck! There's loads on offer at the gala - its gonna be a scorcher of a day so get out and enjoy the sun, bring your pennies see what you can win, watch the magic show, try your hand at circus skills, bag some bargains and have a drink at the pub - what more could you ask for on a barmy Saturday afternoon? - enjoy! Unfortunately I won't be there as its Lion's patrol camp so no sweets and prizes for me boo hoo :( I look forward to hearing all about it afterwards though. Be lucky!!!!

SURVIVAL BIVVI CAMP! 3rd-4th July 2010

You should all have recieved your bivouac camp letter last Tues (sorry I wasn't there, I was at a leaders meeting)- If you're coming get it filled in and back to me a.s.a.p because I need to let the camp know the numbers.
Bivouac-ing is an essential part of the survival skills badge so should you attend and participate well you will gain a badge from the weekend - bonus!
REMEMBER this is not a camp like our previous ones, you will not be fed unless you cook and prep it yourselves, you will not sleep in a dry warm tent, you will not be eating at tables and benches, you will get dirty, you will have to work BUT as 1st Whittington ALWAYS does - you will have a laugh!!!!!!!
You only need minimal kit of a bivouac bag, a waterproof, warm sweater, toothbrush, sleeping bag etc. You probably won't even get changed all weekend - when we did this camp previously everyone went home dirty and smelling of smoke but had made some great memories - I can still see James's splattered (stuck to the billy can) eggs!!!
Don't worry if you feel such a camp is not for you, we're just giving you an opportunity, only take it if you really want to and can cope with being outdoors 100%.

As leaders we're all looking forward to it, sleeping in a plastic bag is such fun!!!
